Choosing A Pet
Before you buy a pet it’s wise to think long and hard about the type of pet you purchase and whether your new pet will suit your personality and lifestyle.
You should ask the following questions:
- Can you afford to keep your pet?
- Have you carried out research on your pet and ongoing care requirements?
- Are your house and garden big enough to house your pet?
- Does a pet fit in with your lifestyle and your daily routine?
- Can you dedicate enough time to look after your pet properly, ie clean out hutches, brush teeth etc?
- Does your pet need a companion?
- How will you prevent your pet from having offspring?
- How big will your pet grow and does it matter?
- How long will your pet live for?
- Does your pet require special equipment and care?
- Who will look after your pet while you’re away?
- Will your new pet mix with existing pets?
